GWC Executive Director appears on local television show

June 18, 2006 - Tisa L. Silver, Executive Director of the Good Works Coalition, Inc.,
appeared on Community Issues to discuss money management in the
African-American community.  In her interview with host, Omar Rashada,  Silver
discussed topics including the importance of good credit and reasonable spending
habits.

Silver offered the following comments on selected topics:
Increasing saving - You do not need to make more money in order to save more
money.  Examine your spending habits and develop a list of the items you
need
and a list of the items you want.  By cutting back spending on the items in your list
of wants, you can begin to save with what you already have.

Improving credit - Keep your word.  Potential creditors use your financial past to
make decisions regarding your future.  Borrow and repay according to the terms
specified in every agreement. Establish a pattern of reliability and you will be
rewarded with lower financing costs.

Supporting black businesses -  Respect African-American entrepreneurs by being
good customers.   Sharing a race is great but, sharing the wealth keeps businesses
open. Making unreasonable requests on the account of a shared race provides no
long term benefit for the customer or the owner.

During the second half of the show, Silver was joined by Lance Bruce, President of
the 3rd District Neighborhood Planning Council for the City of Wilmington,
Delaware.  The guests engaged in a candid conversation about customer service,
consumer education and economic development in the African-American
community.

Community Issues airs on Channel 28 at 11:30 AM on the first, third and fifth Sunday of each
month.  The show is produced and hosted by Omar Rashada.
