| GWC Executive Director quoted in August issue of Delaware Parent August 1, 2006 - The growing cost of a college education can present a huge challenge for parents in this day and age. In her article, "Banking on College," Janel Atlas provided several resources for parents who anticipate sending their children to college. Tisa L. Silver, Executive Director of the Good Works Coalition, Inc. provided the benefits and drawbacks of investing in bonds, stocks and mutual funds, as well as advice for parents preparing to finance a college education. "Many people pay all of their bills, go shopping and then look at what Is left over to start saving. That's backwards. Set a reasonable amount to save periodically and stick to it." Silver advised that regardless of your financial goal, the best advice Is to start saving as soon as possible.
