Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League hosts "A Village Gathering"

May 20, 2006 - The Young Professionals, an auxiliary of the Metropolitan
Wilmington Urban League hosted "A Village Gathering" at the Peoples
Settlement Association in Wilmington, DE.

The crowd was greeted by members of the Young Professionals executive
board and New Castle County Executive, Chris Coons.  Program attendees
were then treated to a series of informative seminars on cancer prevention
and financial empowerment.  

The financial empowerment seminar entitled “Money Management: The Impact of
Short Term Spending Habits on Long Term Purchasing Power” was hosted by  Tisa L.
Silver, Executive Director of the Good Works Coalition.  Silver provided tips
on a variety of financial issues including credit improvement, spending
reduction and preparation for home ownership.
